The best substrates to use in your tort table are...

Hemp

play sand and organic soil mixed (40% sand, 60% soil)

Small stones/pebbles

You should aim to use all 3!

I could be wrong but I always thought stones/pebbles smaller than your torts head should not be used? Some have been known to try and eat them.

that is the rule i would go by aswell but i don't think one one two stones can do much harm.
