please could you let me know where you got your information from because my tort is considerably less than that, have you been using the jacksons ratio or similar?

My tort is approx 720gms, does anyone think that this is underweight for her size (length 164mm) she has been eating well for the last 5 months but did not gain much in weight or length.

I could not tell you the length of my 7 year old as he is in hibernation i know his weight is approx 950gs but he is a rehomer that was not fed on the right foods for years !!!! so i think he is a big boy !!!!
I think as long as she is eating and doing everything she should then she will be fine !!!

I would say for the length it should be around 900gms but as the tortoise is far too big for a seven year old (grown too quickly or incorrectly) the Jacksons ration may not be of any use. It's only realy useful for tortoises grown slowly and smoothly and if the tortoise has thickened keratin, pyramids or flattened shell then the ratio would be completely useless. It was devised for use with wild impported tortoises originally and so many of our captive reared ones do not resembel these in any way. Photos of the tortoise from the side and from above would help to determine if this was likely to be of any use for you.
Hope this helps
