Also is it ok to use one with a zoo med clamp lamp?

The lamp itself should be ideal, but the holder is only rated for 100W so would probably overheat, causing the bulb to switch itself off.
The 10" Clamp Lamp would probably be better, but you'll need to rig up something to clamp it to at an appropriate height. |

The rating is high enough, but as I just mentioned in your other thread you need to check that the reflector is deep enough to cover the bulb, the bulbs are quite big and if it sticks out of the reflector then that's not much use as it doesn't really protect the bulb.

What is confusing you exactly?
The bulb you suggested is fine, you just need to make sure that the holder you use is rated for the correct wattage, ie at least 160W. Also make sure that the reflector part is deep enough to fully contain the bulb so it's protected, if the bulb sticks out then the reflector is too small. |

The 10" Clamp Lamp, but check first that it's physically big enough to completely contain the bulb, you'd need to ask either the supplier or someone who has one.
Otherwise you need to find a bigger dome reflector, many of the poultry ones are rated up to 250W and are also physically big enough, you can get them on eBay or shop around poultry suppliers. |
