aw lovely.

You can't conclusively go off age really, it's more to do with the size of the tort and if they can pass the eggs. If torts are bred to young/small, the eggs can become lodged

if you do get a male please quarantine for six months..use alcohol hand gel inbetween contact and handling. I learnt to my detriment the importance of quarantining.

Also if you want the male and female to live together permanantlyyou may want to get another female as well.. as the male could harass n stress the female if kept alone with her. usually aratio of two or three females to one male is ideal

not really, for some reason you tend to see a lot of leopards with lumpy shell growth. if you look on this page drummerkid it shows a leopard tortoise (press ctrl + f n type leopard - then press nxt lol yep i'm lazy)

She is rather deformed I would not use her for breeding, slo if you get one male you will have an awful rime with them, or rather she will. You should never put one of each together, it's very traumatic for the female Please do some more research before considering breeding.

No it's due to poor husbandry and incorrect feeding. Unfortunately it can mean there are problems internally too particularly where egg laying is concerned.

80% of the tort pics ive seen on here have similar shells!

like mentioned its down to inproper care and lack of knowledge.

back to the question
I was given a rescue horsfield a few months ago whos 7 years old and only 3 inches and had not been with a male since her clutchmates. she had laid a random egg last year which was too big for her to lay and so had to have an operation.
go by the size of the tortoise not the age for breeding for future reference and keep that one as a pet!
