Yes, if you were not prepared to go the extra mile for a horsfield. I have both but would not keep the horsfields indoors with the same regime as a hermanns at either end of the season. I have two tiny horsfield babies in doors right now as thye are determined to hibernate and I would like them to go a bit longer before doing so but it is not easy to keep theri substrate correct for constructing burrows

I know it's not ideal, but could you not supply them with artificial burrows if you have to keep them indoors, constructed out of drain or sewer pipes?
