Update: The changes suggested i make have made a massive difference already, he seems so much more awake and happy, he is now on soil/sand substrate with 10.0 uv tube lamp, he is also now eating his weeds. Thanks for all your help. It's a happy ending i have posted a pic of him in his towel after his bath.

has he been checked for parasites?

and

what ratio is the sand and soil?

Yeah he has and all seems to be fine the sand soil is a 50/50 mix.

thnk god hes healthy!

if you find the 50/50 mix gets a bit 'dusty' you might want to change it to soil: 60 play sand:40.

He is lovely but please don't dry him after a bath, the water is beneficial and best left to dry naturally as in the wild

I dont usually dry him after a bath, i just put him on a towel whilst he dry's of naturally cos i find if i put him back on his table all the substrate sticks to him and gets everywhere.
