Does it? I thought it might as all the Mercury Vapours are rather big, that's why I use a T-Rex Dome for mine, it's easy to touch or damage a hot and expensive bulb if it's not fully protected by the shade.

Some of the poultry lampholders are very good too, usually cheaper than "reptile" branded ones, and most have a polished metal interior rather than white enamelled so they reflect better, if you need a reflecting one.
