Another question for my sister, what varnish is safe to use on a tortoise table, She is making her own and wants to seal it with varnish but wants to make sure it wont be poisonous with using heat on it.

i've heard off a few other members on here, that all varnishes should be safe provided they're given time to dry and air off. Though not got personal experience of this i'm afraid hun

I always use Ronseal Quick Drying Floor Varnish for stuff like this, it's water based (but waterproof when dry) and much safer for animals than solvent based varnishes. As the name implies it's also very fast drying.
