I have no idea what it is either. I certainly wouldn't feed anything you are unsure of to you tort, the result could be fatal.

I havn't dug them up so I don't know sorry

I only gave her 1 leaf once not since and I wont again.

I need to find out what they are.

If it is the normal red garden poppy, which it looks like it could be from the pic (are the leaves everso finely haired on the back?) then it is toxic to torts and must be avoided. California and welsh poppies are fine though.

Extremely toxic. You would not be seeing the elsh or Californian poppies around right now anyway as they are annuals and not hardy.

Does the one in the second pic have little 'lumps' on the leaves?

No that's just frost melting.They are both the same plant the small one is just a young 1.Theres a few more about too.
