my last view on this topic is as follows....

My MegaRay Gives He coorrect amount on UVB, Heat, And Light. So Why change it.

But hey...we all have different methods and I'm not gonna try and stop someone if they feel its better to use a ceramic and tube =)

course with the new eu regulations coming into place..banning filament bulbs? Or so i was told, we may not have much of a choice in future

banning fillament bulbs!

isn't it only for the ones over 100wts?

not sure hun, i'm sure there was a thread on here a while back but i'll have to dig around for it..

if it is some people use 100-150w floods n spots dont they.i'll try finding thread i'm probably wrong tbh lol just what i was told n i had a vague recollection of a thread on here

The petition is closed.

but at least we have an option if they do ban the bulbs.

Ceramic bulbs are great for extra heat and for night time heat.
I cannot remember reading a post where its states your were wrong using them, if you were only using them then yes its it wrong.

Ceramic bulbs are good for heating overnight, but a med tortoise would be much better off with a light-emmiting bulb.

Not sure about redfoots- as I dont know anything about tropical species, but they need to know the difference between night and day, so UVB and an over head lamp would be alot better for providing a basking spot.

I use a Bulb that is Heat,light and UV all in 1 it has a ceramic fitting and reflector.It was very expensive but lasts years before you need to change it and in my opinion is the best.
