You can have them outside all the time there active if you use a heated shed but i know plenty of people that use greenhouses and they work great the temps are kept warm and for free plus U.V pentrates but it does help to have an added heat source set up with a thermistat just encase the temps drop.

well i'd give it a day till someone just walks up and takes your animal. if it's worth $10 they'll steal it........do you all use razor wire?......an expensive tortoise would be gone in a heart beat......if you lived out in the country it would be cool......any little kid would steal it....

Just a very important note here - uvb does NOT penetrate greenhouse glass or normal polycarbonate. Additional uvb MUST be added during colder weather when the animal does not venture out as much.
