Question Taking Tort on Holiday

During Summers me and my family go to Evesham in England for a week. I wondered if there is chance of taking her up? Because we stay in a shed thing we use a generator during the day for electricity and then we turn it off at night. In the morning it is quite cold, and without a heat lamp I think she would be too cold but we can't keep the generator on at night so do you think she would be okay? Or would it be better in investing in some sort of battery powered heat lamp (if they exist)?

Thanks.

I've taken mine away in the camper but the site we used had electric sockets it costs extra but is worth it. There are many sites that offer this facility but if not and you only have a generator i would be tempted to leave the tortoise in someone elses care. I don't know how you travel or where you stay because for a couple of nights we have what we call leisure batteries rigged up in the camper they are big car batteries that an auto electrician rigged up to power the invertor when the engine is not on but they need the engine to charge so they are only an option for a weekend or if you are moving around a lot.

Ah okay.
Well it's like a building in the middle of a field. And so they only electricity we can rely on is the generator and if it isn't on at night then the sockets won't work.
I know but :'( I'll miss her.

Thanks though .

I wouldn't advise it- Firstly, in a caravan, the risk of a fire would be higher than at home if you are using heat lamps ect.

Secondly, in my opinion it'd stress the tort out WAY too much, and thirdly, you wouldnt know where to pick weeds I.E If they where sprayed with pesticides ect ect in a different place than usual.

It would be much safer to leave her with a tort keeper or to get a friend to change the water and food and bath her.

Ah, well it's not really a caravan either. It's basically a big shed. But yeah.. So there isn't some sort of battery powered heat lamp?

I'm not too concerned about the shed coming alight. We light a fire every night and it doesn't set on fire..

The weeds..

I just won't take her with me lol it seems too much hassle.

Thank you anyway. Yeah I think I could find someone.. I won't ask my friend because she feeds her tortoises pellets and they're different breeds kept together..
Hmm I'll find someone.
