yeah to add 6 months quarantine really is necessary to make sure any nasties in the system are flushed out...parasite problems being just one possibility

Just to add to this - have a faecal done at the vets, as the system will not cleanse itself in captivity, no matter how long you keep them quarantined. Some diseases rear their ugly heads after several years and kill whole groups of torts

flushed out meaning discovered..didn't mean they'd heal themselves, i'm crap at wording things lately aren't I? lol 'rear their ugly heads' is alot more cut n dry, suppose mine could be open for misinterpretation. i'll just be quiet from now on lol

Well just to add to this. someone wanted to buy one of my torts and put it straight in with a horsefield, i wasnt sure (apart from quarantine) so obviously didnt sell one. i asked them them to do research and come back to me. Are some torts ok to house together?

aren't the torts ur selling hermanns? If so then no.

it's the same as it is with lizards and snakes..they shouldn't be mixed with animals from a different species.
