male/female
i have a a 2ish year old tort, how can i tell if it is male or female??
i know about the concave of the shell underneath but was wondering if i could tell another way as this has not happened yet?

He/she is too young to tell for sure unless it's a male and has flashed at you or is grossly overgrown, in which case it is just possible. The concave plastron is not a reliable source and does not apply to all species. What species is yours?

Male horsfields don't have a concaved plastron, can you post some pictures perhaps of the tortoises tail area and possibly its vent,
