Question hermanns tortoise- temperature

hiya
i got a Hermanns tortoise 4 xmas, but it came with a really big viv and we have got no where 2 put it except our Conservatory. But the problem is that the conservatory has no heating but the viv has its own heating 4 the tortoise.
Will it be 2 cold 4 the tortoise?

many thanks

someone will give you correct temps but they are around 32degress in warm end and 20degrees in cold. altho u cant get a cold area in viv's therefore the viv must go im afraid! torts shudnt be kept in them!

first of all, chuck out the viv (or keep it for another rep) and get a tort table...then we talk

Basking spot needs to be given of 30-32 degrees celcius..at the far end, with either a 10.0 strength uvb tube. or even a combined heat /uvb bulb like the megaray,t-rex,powersun.

the cool end should be just that..you want a nice thermal gradient. How old/what size is the tort, also how bigs the viv.

Vivs aren't recommended for med species due to glass which can cause severe stress in torts as they can't understand the concept of glass n will persist in trying to escape. unmodified vivs dont provide enough ventilation. And humidity can become an issue. med species need low humidity environments.

high humidity can cause respiritary infections as well.

also what substrate are you using and how deep is it? this is another argument against vivs, as unless they're modified you can't get the substrate nice and deep... deep substrate means the tortoises can dig down to thermoregulate
