Default Worms

My tortoise has worms and she has before, and we used this gel like stuff which you put onto the food. We put some on her food today and she ate it straight away, but I've been reading on some other posts that if they have worms you should take her to the vets. Should I wait and see if it clears up or take her to the vets? Sorry if it seems a silly question or anything but I just want to make sure.
Thanks.

What you need to do it take a poo sample to your vets and check for worms, keep doing this untill the poo comes back clear.

Yes I am afraid you do need to go to your local REPTILE vet but firstly you need to get a stool sample to your vet to see how many worms he has and what they are. Then after the results he may need to be wormed probably with panacur. Your vet will stomach tube him once and then again after 2-3 weeks. Please make sure your vet has some knowledge of torts you may have to shop around. There are some wormers that are deadly to torts but panacur is the safest.

I know that it is extra money after Christmas but it is worth it. I worm my own and dealing with a 9 kg amazon basin redfoot can be hard work but I learned the technique from my vet.
