i have tried to take some pics of him and the mystery growth, o have loaded them to photo bucket or wot ever its called

hi all had hin to vets he is defo a HE also they said its over grown skin"skin tag" it wont harm him,they also said his previous owners had not been keeping him well as he is under weight she said about 4 years old his oweners (previous ones) said he was 2and a half
she said to fatten him up and go back in the spring time for a check.

I wouldn't bother taking your tortoises for a check up. There is very very little they can do without running extensive tests. I would only take them if they where getting a faecal (SP?) Examination done, for worms or other viruses

i'm guessing it wasn't an exotics specialist then, as they wouldn't advise u to 'fatten him up'. even with underweight tortoises it's essential they gain weight slowly to avoid further problems. Might be an idea for you to search out a specialised tort/exotics vet
