As red foots dont need high UV, will a 5.00 be good enough? And change it every 5 months? Also, how long can they go withought a uv bulb for incase it blows?

Hi Tom, using a 5.0 is fine for reds.
Reds only have pockets of sun in the wild, so no need to over worry, just make sure they have their temp grades thou.

why not buy two everytime your at the shop.

that way you'll have a back-up if one goes.

OR

keep the last one you changed, so if your new one goes out you have that as a tempory
