The profit part was a question... my question. Although it was answered it is still a question. Then there's the adoption fees... the requirement to join the TT before adopting... Carapace Press(I know... not part of the TT)...videos... and the best of all... The TT courses... that one's brilliant. I'm sure there are more. I said as you did, AH has turned his hobby into a nice little business. You can call it a nonprofit business but it is a business. That's all I said.

In all fairness if it is allowed for accolades to be posted on a list why can't other opinions... respectfully and within reason... be posted?

As far as me being banned... I seem to have found a level playing field here.

What interests me is that many of the names are familiar on this list which leads me to believe that you all were quite familiar with the very points of view I was banned for. Very interesting.

I'll address the 'Nazi' comment here. It's a term I like. It is a socially acceptable term the world over... we got Safety Nazis at my job... another way OT subject... I was introduced to the term buy many UK tortoise keepers and it stuck. It's an integral part of the UK tortoise culture.

I see nothing wrong with exposing the new keeper to the subject since this particular poster has been totally immersed into the arena. They might actually understand and not be put off by some of the responses they are getting.

In the last few weeks I arranged for a member to collect two tortoises; the female had a prolapse that had been left untreated for quite some time - immediately requiring veterinary treatment, involving costs, that the TT have met. I will add a picture later. The Trust never turns away a sick tortoise and I know the hospital there is almost full. The Trust was asked to rehome another tortoise - this tortoise was left at a vet suffering burns and a wound to a leg that eventually required amputation ... the list can go on and on.

Please do not use this forum to express your 'feelings' towards Andy. It is not the place and your accusations re: profitable business are unfounded and untrue - as I have explained before.

Enjoy your stay - please do not turn this forum as so many have been turned and you are eventually banned from.

It was an opening... I entered... sorry. It was kinda rude. I do that in social gatherings also... someone... actually, many... described it as 'lacking in certain social skills. I'll go to the intro section and introduce myself.

At least I took some of the heat off the new keeper.
