so what do you recommend as a large tortoise please dont think ide take on any animal without any intentions on it being a member of the family forever hence why i would prefer to take on a rescue

I have to agree you need a massive garden for a sulcata.
How about a ibera, horsfield or hermann. They dont grow as big.
