these bilbs are fine but be careful using a table lamp alot of them units are rated quite low on wattage and if you use a powerful bulb the holder can go brittle although some do have ceramic holder units ( just check)

It's ok, my dad is an electrictian

I've also been re-looking at the Mega Ray bulbs, as you lot seem to think they will still be ok! Would the 100w bulb be too much for a hatchling or do you all mean that they can never get enough UV?

more uv the better to be honest. 100w should be fine providing the enclosure isn't tiny

What would you call "tiny"? I'm quite sure mine is not small, it's quite a bit bigger than some of the indoor enclosure pics on here but at the moment its in the attic so can't measure it!

I experiment with the height my bulbs are away from the table. providing the hot spot is between 30-32degrees celciuss you should be fine.

By tiny i mean that the bulb would heat the whole enclosure and not give a cool end as well. Cool end temps should be fine at room temperature
