Hello,
As you may have seen i am just settng up my tort table. I've been tld by the breeder that a combined UV/heat lamp wil be too strong for hatchlings and have been advised to get a separate UV and heat lamp. I want to put the UV bulb into a desk lamp fixture if possible so it looks tidy. Do the screw in UV bulbs exist? Many Thanks |

That's where the Exo Terra ones are better, because of their spiral shape they can be mounted horizontally or vertically, just like a normal lightbulb.
Have to say I wondered about that comment about MVBs being too strong, they emit a similar level of UVB to natural sunlight, and what do wild baby torts live in? Natural sunlight! |

This is where I get mine from eBay.co.uk Shop - Reptilekeeping: Reptile Lighting: Exo Terra Sun glo lamp A19 60w - 4 vivarium
I use the 10% 13W ones which are quite adequate for smaller turt tanks. |

I use the combine bulbs for all my tortoises and find them brilliant.
