Default temp at hot end HELP

hi my temp rite under the 50w basking bulb directly under is 38 c hes sitting under it and he hascool end and big space round where it not too hot. and doesnt feel hot so my thermoter mite not be working properly pls help thanks

you have to bear in mind the human body temp is 37 degrees celcius..so 38 mightn't feel to warm to us but could cook a tort.

to reduce the temperature raise the basking bulb about two inches and see if this makes a difference

ah cool glad you've got it sorted. I use digital thermometers/hygrometers in most of my enclosures and temp guns are really good as well to have

I use T1 thermoeter. Its great.
