to be honest tables are probs better because there better sized for a tort, they are better ventilated, and is a difference of about £10. so tables WOULD be alot better.

the only reason tortoise keepers rant is because they are passionate and want people to give the best care possible to their tortoises - which unfortunatly doesnt always happen, despite the good advice they are given. can get a bit frustrating!

How the Table Beats The viv
  • Cheaper
  • doesnt keep in humidity
  • doesnt have glass that will stress the tort
  • more ventilated
  • have a better temperture gradient
I'd like to know why you people think vivs are better. Thanks

I keep my two young torts in a large viv, but i have taken the glass doors off for better air circulation.

alot of vivs have a wooden strip across the bottom as opposed to a glass strip that would rule out the stress of glass banging

Most of them arent high enough but even if they were thats only one of the disadvantages ruled out.
