Question temperatures for horsfields?

Hi

What is the ideal temperature for daytime and the ideal temp for night time for a horsfield tortoise?

What about ideal Hygrometer reading?

Bought a digital thermometer and hygrometer last nite so want to make sure everything is what it should be

The digital hygrometers are rubbish, good for temperature but no good for measuring humdity. Have a look at this thread Shelled Warriors :: View topic - why you shouldn't buy a cheap hygrometer......

My horsfields are kept at 30-32c under warm spot and in cool spots about 20c

it shouldn't be humid.

For a good thermometer try the 'T1 thermometer'

Horsfields are quite hardy little tortoises, living quite happily outdoors in the UK for most of the year. Hot spot shoudl be around 30 degrees and the rest of the area whatever the natural ambient temps are. Horsfields kept at too high temps often display restless behaviour.
Hope this helps

There is no need to measure humidity as horsfields burrows can be quite humid naturally. So long as they have an arid (dry) hot spot and other dry areas to choose if they so wish then they will be fine. It is a mistake to keep them at constantly low humidity. The key is to give them the choice with a large enough enclosure to cope with this
