brilliant comment.

Make sure that the tortoises always have access to fresh water in a large shallow dish/pool. For youngsters you can put pebbles in the bottom to raise the depth slightly, but this still allows bathing and drinking. (some tortoises will relieve themselves in the water, this is perfectly natural and should be encouraged as they can replenish any lost moisture at the same time so to speaK)

U.V is a necessity and must be supplied or if the weather is nice and warm and sunny there's nothing better than natural sunlight for them.So put them outside in nice weather to soak up the RAYS.

offer pure calcium suppliments daily (limestone flour is ideal, and can be found at the shelled warriors shop on ebay nice and cheap), and for growing torts nutrobal should be added daily. For adult torts 3-4 times a week should be fine.

Before buying a tortoise have a home built or bought and set up all ready.

Also is a good idea to source weeds (not with ketchup though),or get some growing.
