From the photos you have posted, that looks like an abnormally outgoing leopard. When you have it out be sure to get it used to having it's head touched such as stroking the top, bottom and sides. Also, see if you can get the tortoise to let you gently hold it's head between your thumb and middle finger. This will help in exams and administering meds.

Leopards have the same personality whether they are CB or WC. The older the animal the more the personality is imprinted.

Leopards are notoriously shy. You can usually tell by one photograph because I've waited hours for some to come out in order to photograph.

Yours looks like a nice one. I highly recommend taking the precautions I mentioned earlier to keep it that way and the best of luck with it.

Send me an email directly to epirog@comcast.net and I'll send you an article I wrote on the Leopard tortoise. It might help you.

A urine sample can be obtained by handling the tortoise gently tap the forelimbs so it feels threatened not frightened. Walk around with it a while (be sure to have a container, have the vent pointed away from you and watch for the direction of the tail). Also hold it under warm running water. Use a little common sense here(I had to put that in there for past post experience) don't drown the animal.

Suggest to the vet this is what you would like done. Some vets might not treat an animal without diagnostics but most vets will. Explain (this applies to the above post also) that not all protozoa can be detected using fecals or urine analysis as a means because they are not always shedding evidence and the protozoa can still be present. This is especiall true with Entameoba and (I believe) Hexamita.

This is why I believe it is important to blanket treat new acquisitions especially if they are even suspected of being WC or Farmed.
thank you Ed, that does sound better to get a urine sample
