Default Home-made or Buy (Tort Enclosure)

Hi peeps

Just wondering of you guys make your own or have bought your tortoise table/enclosure?

I am looking for something to house either 1 or 2 baby hermans but undecided what to go for.........any chance I can see your pics of yours please to give me a bit of guidance please

The cheapest option is probably buying a plastic storage box from IKEA.

I made mine out of wood however becuase my Dad gets it for free.

The cheapest option I found was an Ikea underbed box... they're about £6. It will obviously only last while she's small then I'll upgrade.

I'm using an out of commission kitchen unit & a plastic underbed storage box from homebase - cost £10

That looks pretty sweet Tina - thank you fot the pic .....how have you got a basking bulb attached to the tub or is it free standing?

Thinking about a comined UV/bask bulb when the time comes for me

Forgot to mention - i have been reading up on enclosures etc but can they be too big for babys....if that makes sense

The basking light is a desk lamp (£10 from Argos) which I can lower and higher as needed, I have the box and desk lamp stood on a table. I have moved the uv light now from on the back to the left of the box so it's where the basking light is as I didn't feel it was close enough. The combined is a very good option and you can get a stand which they clamp onto as well (which I'm sure you've seen).

My babies had a 4ft by 2ft home made tort table, much cheaper than buying one.

Here are a couple of photos of two tort tables I had..
