Hi All,
I have a leopard Tortoise a few weeks now, he is doing really well. Brought him to the vet and got a good check over, he is really starting to eat better everyday. I kinda asked this question already about what bedding to store in the base of the enclosure, at the moment the stuff i have is difficult from him to walk on so i was thinking of maybe some soil mixed with some sand or just soil? I wanted to grow some plants in his enclosure plus it would be far easier for him to move around on and with the basking light on one end i would image it would become harder soil hence making it more like their wild life habitat in Africa. Heres a video of him over 1 week ago, it will show the substrate. I am still amazed how better he is moving around / eating since then. YouTube - Leopard Tortoise George I am not an expert just looking for opinions, someone did suggest a kind of substrate they use in horse barns but i really don't think it mimics their wild habitat? Thanks in advance! Michael |
