Yea get rid of the bark for a while and try something softer.I would bath his eye twice a day in a very WEAK salt solution.Have you got any sphagnum moss for his hide?

I just wanted to suggest a few things... I think your setup is perfect. The orchid bark is a great substrate for RFs... the humidity is better than average.

Remember... these guys do not like change or being messed with. If you are going to do anything with the eyes... get an eye dropper and drop a drop of water in the eye every once in a while without touching the tortoise. I wouldn't recommend wiping the eye because you might actually irratate it.

Default i had a problem with tort eyes

hi, i had a similar problem but it seems to be clearing now, phew! but what if it reappears? what does white discharge mean for the tort? i just bathed it in slightly salted water and it seemed to work? ty

White discharge (or any colour discharge) is signs of an infection in the eye.Keep bathing it in very weak warm salt solution for a few days.Do not rub the eye though it will make it sore.Just dab it gently and try to drip the solution onto it a little but not too much.
