Default Quickest way to grow weeds/plants?

Has anyone found a really quick way to grow weeds/plants? We don't really have many in the surrounding area as i don't live in the country so i grow them myself, the problem is the god damn cat keeps eating them! Today the stoopid cat ate a batch of nasturshums and cornflowers that took me forever to grow!!! I leave orange peel around to keep her away but that doesn't work!

Any tips on quick growing methods please, or the cat gets it!

Put them where the cat can't get them or cover with a pen type enclosure.

The cat finds them no matter where i put them - inside or outside, i cover them but she knocks it off, i put netting over it but then she half kills herself by getting tangled up, she even goes as far as stealing them from my tort's table if she hasn't ate enough from my reserves!

I would use some sort of 'miracle grow' but whatever is in it might be harmful to Donatello, poor little guy

I would make a strong enclosure for them to keep the cat out and watch she don't start using the table as a toilet !

God help her if she did! I told my husband that i hate cats, if anything happens to her he was warned

I bought aloe and opuntia cactus too, but guess what happened to that!

If i make a plant enclosure that kept her out she would eat my torts food from his table, it's a vicious circle! Cant cover my tort with net because the cat gets tangled, can't cover it in wire mesh because it might poke my son's eye out!

I just really need a quick way to grow things.

If you've got a warm room... hydroponics Hydroponics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is probably the quickest way to go... it's still slow though. This would work best for the weed seeds that everyone links when suggesting feeding weeds.

Cheers for that

How often do you feed pellets? I'm interested in what you say and am thinking about maybe giving it a go (please don't pounce on me for saying this!) because i think that nutritionally this would be best for my tort because i don't have a huge variety of weeds on hand at all times and feel as though i'm depriving him in some way.

In the winter I feed once a week for the most part sometimes twice. I feed as much as they will eat in one sitting then remove the food. in the summer... twice a week.

I do recommend feeding this with greens such as endive or any of the lettuces just to add variety... when the weeds start popping up around the neighborhood or in the yard... add this to the mix and you can forgo the grocery greens.

I hate when people point out that things are different in the States than in the UK but I have to admit that the produce section of every grocery I've visited in the UK is terrible. Do the best you can. You're looking for dark leafy lettuces.

Sainsbury's have a good selection of fresh produce... they even sell living lettuce which is potted up for you to pop on your windowsill, water, use and pick as you need (different varieties potted up together). I bought some a few weeks ago and it's doing really well.

Tesco, Asda and Morrisons are all pretty useless but Sainsbury's have a good variety.
