Default Basking...

Hey,

Getting a horsfield tortoise on the 4th March and cant wait! I was just wondering, in the morning when you switch on all of the lights, will they automatically wake up when ready and go under the basking light or do you have to physically pick them up and move them underneath?

Sorry i am a bit thick as this is my first ever pet apart from fish so i just dont want to kill it !

Thanks

Mike

They should seek the heat out...dont worry!!
May take a bit to settle in so give them some space.

Ok thanks!!

I have heard you should bath them daily... but for the first day should i just leave them to get used to their new home before disturbing them?
