Someone mentioned the rest of the forum is a lot different to the shelled section earlier??? that may hold some truth???

But if you wander into the lizard section, and start a thread about "Sand as a substrate?"...Or go to the snake section and start a thread about "Live feeding" or "Keeping snakes together in the same enclosure?"...

Were not that different here really...T.T.

Except members of the lizard section don't often get temporary bans for resorting to personal insults towards other members, when they are asked for evidence (not just the gospel according to AH) to back up claims...that's happened a couple of times in shelled recently...

Starting a thread about sand (or even calci-sand) will usually prompt a debate, everyone keeps their cool, there is no abusing people, no snipes etc. You don't get members who will greet new members with "change 90% of your setup to make it exactly like mine otherwise your lizard will die a horrible, cruel, painful death"...

Passions run deep my friend...Not that I am agreeing with resorting to insults of any nature...But it happens...sure.

As for the stats on temp. bans for insults in the lizard section? You have to take that up with the mods/Admin?...I can think of a few incidents, however I am not that anal with stats in other sections...T.T.

If by being put in their place you mean PM'ing them accusing them of being liars, childish and disrupting sales of torts in pet shops Tbo, then may I politely add that on the first and second points you are wrong and on the third Hallelujah. My posts have not stopped because you have put me in my place but because I now have better things to do than listen to this sort of constant tittle tattle!
Good night!

Too true - can you imagine the rows when some bright spark starts breeding 'morph' tortoises?

Yes - I see what you mean. They are very handsome beasts but within accepted perameters for Ibera's (I have 2 very similar to those - although your dark one is very dark). Go away and breed a blue one and report back for your thoroughly deserved castigation!!

Cheers...I have to confess, those 2 are exceptional hatchlings as far as colouration is concerned.

I must bid you all goodnight, this SS uniform is a tad too tight to be typing in, this time of night...T.T.

This is gonna sound wierd from me... the reason this forum is so active is because both sides have a forum... that is not only rare but it is nonexistant.

I don't agree with many points on the 'other side' if you will but there are many points we do agree on... but will not admit it.

I've got my personal agenda... I'm right... and it's all about me... (not really but I'm sure you see te point).

I've seen more people 'jump into' this list than any other... it is really cool.

People are seeing that they don't have to be intimidated by other individuals on the net... hopfully it goes futher.

(oh hell... I'm having another one of those moments)

I guess the reason you see not so many people posting on here, and members going to other forums to get their advice regarding tortoises is because there is such a large member base here, that people have successfully managed to keep their tortoises in different ways. So not trying to offend anyone, but the moment someone says that another way to what others say is a good way to keep their torts, is the moment everyone jumps on that person and starts trouble.

So in my view, people are in fear of making a post unless that REALLY have to. Or they're here to read the entertainment of the arguements etc
