I read this section for a while and as others have said stopped because i got fed up hearing about the same arguements, (not discussions) the same insulting and agressive mannors used to talk to new keepers who didn't have the condition 100% to the way X and Y thought they should be kept. you can portry opinions without being agressive and insultive towards the poster and they get across better.

I then stopped reading for ages. Got linking here by somone the last week and have to say the posts and threads i have read since then have been a joy to read, well some of them anyway. Very imformative with a mix of various styles on keeping and some new information i hadnt come across before.

I dont have the knowledge to join in some of the deaper decussion but i always injoy learning new information, and some the the new posts have resparked my interests.

Oh and all tortise keeps are nutts lol.

Agreed 100%

I enjoy reading ed's posts and pay maore attention to the way he has started writting recently because he is polite and backs up the information he presents. Where as the shelled old regulars are abuseive, often insultive, and generally rude and snappy. Not ment as and insult or go at anyone just an observation.

I for one am glad that we now see another side to tortoise keeping on RFUK and some of the more aggressive and unforgiving posters have been put in their place. It saddened me that people ended up scared to post here because of a select group of people that believe there is no other way apart from 'their way'... its not the point who is wrong or right, but how you put your point across.

Too many people here in the past took a genuine question to be a dig in the gub, and instead of explaining positions (which the poster would want) started into a semi political totalitarian diatribe, which put people off. I remember not so long ago some of us would post in here just to start them off on one - for a laugh. We don't anymore, but it was a sign of how bad it had become.

With my animals I don't like to take too many risks, but I do like to see and try other peoples theories out..especially if they have had no problems. Here, it wasn't possible to mention, never mind report, such activities.

It seems normal now however, which is good, as I am about to embark on the purchase of three red foots, and will be doing a complete start to finish thread.
