It's nothing to do with age rather how big they are. Once a Tortoise hits a certain weight then they are capable of breeding. For example I know some one who sucessfully bred from a 6 year old Greek Spur Thighed Tortoise. Generally, they start breeding between 10 and 15 yrs old but he fed her more (I assume) therefore she hit breeding weight earlier than usual.

It has very little to do with age. I've had leopards and Egyptians drop eggs at 4 years old. The egyptian eggs were infertile... the leopard eggs were fertile.

you had fertile (or) any eggs from a 4yearold leopard how big was it i would have thought it shouldnt be much longer than about 4 inches at that age where did it keep the eggs and more to the point is this animal still alive and how old is it now.

She was 11 inches SCL. It was a tortoise that I sold to a guy as a hatchling. He could no longer take care of it so he sent it back to me after 4 years. It was severely pyramided. She bred the first year back with me. The eggs survived the move... she didn't.

I lost her in the move from San Diego to Georgia. I suspect she had the same bug that the rest of my Leopards had and I did not treat her.

She would have been 7 had she lived.
