I hadn't heard of this, I just based my table on pics i have seen where the tube is close (porbably not a close as mine though)

Recommended is 6" to 12" above the top of the torts shell... it seems to vary depending on what book/care sheet you're reading.

Is that what you were asking? I'm soooo tired I can't actually read properly

Yeah, I think a UV free hide, a pace to get away and the tort should be Ok.

I aslo think that natural sunlight in the wild has far more UV than a tube, so again, no need to worry.

These are just my thoughts, I have no evidence or anything.
