your external on your tank, why dont you put the out pipe on ne side and the in pipe on the other that way you will turn the water round in your tank. the way you have got it set up you are taking clean water in. just a suggestion. is your external a fluva 404

Looks nice, but those BW Tetras are every bit as special and beautiful as the turtle who doesn't 'need' to be eating them

oh yes i can see it now.what size is your external i think you would get away with just using one. if you still use two then i would do it so that one side in one side out so that the water goes round your tank in a circle. lovelly set up

lol goat, Tails being a male is very lazy and only really chases the plec, the widows were my first ever fish and were my heart lies when it comes to fins and stuff,
and 2big, i used two filters to ensure that the water quality is ace, plus the hoses wouldnt reach the full length of the tank, its 4ft.

Your basking facilities are far more posh than mine - do you find they prefer the grass slope and platform or is it to provide a more aesthetic effect for the viewer? We have an old plank and a plywood platform, but I'm going to need a bigger tank this year, and I need to build a new basking platform as my one is disintegrating.

Do they chew the fake grass, and does it seem to come straight through, my two periodically eat the gravel. This probably accounts for why so much of it is so smooth!

hey andi, nope tails dont eat the grass, it was basically designed with the turt in mind, like i have said before i prefer watchin him in the water not on dry land so how the baskin area ended up lookin didnt bother me, the astro turf is great as it gives a soft smooth area for the turt to grip on without damanagin the males nails, which am told certain floatin docks can do.

if your turts eat the pebbles i would remove them asap, it can led to impactation which basically if when the turt eats something and it gets stuck.
