Thanks! Ill do that then I expect!

They seem so different to lizards/snakes though, I think I would be terrified to get one!

So if an 8x2ft would be OK for 2 hermanns, could 1 go in a 4x2?
How many different weeds a day do they need?
How much do they eat?

Now, just to nag at the partner some more lol

I wouldn't reccommend a viv unless It was extremly well ventilated...

They'd be far happier in an indoor rabbit cage, keep the viv for a lizard or snake

Check out the posts on manufactured/formulated diets... I can save you a bunch of grief until you get a grasp of what diet is all about.

try and feed a good variety of weeds daily. As a general rule, the amount should be a enough to cover the shell in a sort of 'blanket'.

It's a good idea to do weekly weighs..The tort should be putting on about 2-4g a month anymore of less than that then increase or decrese the food accordingly.

Do you think there would be enough ventilation in the 8x2 I described?

Ill try doing a pic on paint, but dont expect it to be any good lol, it will probably confuse you more.

Ok, the yellow is wood, the turquoise colour is mesh. The 2 squares on the front are vents. I could put more of them in on the sides too.
I would have glass sliding doors on the front - but have the wood high enough so a tort couldnt see out.

Think Ill give up and use a rabbit hutch lol!

If it were to fit in the stack, but be on top I could do 4x2ft. Is that OK for a Hermanns?

What height would you recommend the walls be?

That would be Ok for a young tortoise, but it would need to be bigger once he's older. It's also important they have access to the outside for sunny days.

When mine is fully gown he's going outside permently, with a heated shed.
