Like I said... as long as my family capitalizes on my collection... I really don't care.

I told my wife who to contact so she get the most for her money... people I trust... That cover's it.

You're looking at your pet. I'm looking at my passion. I don't mean to belittle your feelings about your pet but I'm talking about 50 to 75 tortoises... It's a little different situation than the 'normal' keeper.

When I'm dead... I hope I don't feel anything.

Have you ever wondered why torts live so long? Now that secret would be something a lot of humans would like to capitalise on.

Back on thread - the people & animals we leave when we die all carry a 'part' of us after we have gone. We helped them be born, live, eat etc. One day in a hundred years they'll be saying that guy/gal who owned that tortoise....blah, blah.

If I ever own a tort i will make sure my grave has a few weeds for him/her to munch.

Low mentablisms and slow growth mean they have a long life span.

Thats a bit out of order really. Keping a pet is meant to be enjoybable for both parties.
Even though you're not there, they still will be, you must care about their welfare or would you care if they all died?

When you're dead, you don't know what happens to them but they're still there and from this point of view, you should care what happens to them..does that make sense?

Not quite true...

Did you know there is an equal debate that the human body is programed with a predetermined number of heartbeats? That is... if you live fast you die young.

I found this by researching the kids comment... a few years ago... it was interesting but didn't make sense.

It makes sense but it is not very realistic.
