Default underweight ibera

Hi All,
i have an 8 year old med Spur-thigh ibera that has just come out of a ten week hibernation, with total success(fridge) and she was eating like a horse after about an hour!, however according to the jacksons ration she is vastly underweight, has anybody got any ideas on how to get her weight up this year without overfeeding her (165mmSCL and 620gramms at the end of hibernation) she is now 750gramms

thanks Crusty

What do you think?

The tortoise just came out of hibernation... they have a relatively slow metabolism... it's eating... patience might be an option.

My suggestion... throw away the numbers and what the tortoise is 'supposed to do'. Go with your instincts an what the tortoise tells you.

Thanks for the constructive opinion, are you saying the jacksons ratio is worthless then?

i overfed the tortoise at first, but she still has a good shape with no pyramiding, my gut feeling is that she is underweight

what do others iberas weigh / and size at 8 years

Offer plenty of watercress - mine grew sigificantly faster when I fed them the stuff this winter campared to a normal weed diet. Helens right - if you think your tortoise is underweight then you can't over feed it.

I'm with Ed on this one

If she is putting on weight then there's nothing to worry about.
