Last time I went there were 6 horsefields torts in a 60x45 exoterra, they were fairly grown on by the looks not tiny babies and couldn't move around eachother very well at all due to lack of space. Hatchling leos on what looked like calci sand but more coarse with more veg than mealies. I wouldn't put that substrate near any of my animals. 3 sub adult beardies (10" plus) in a 60x45 exoterra too.
EDIT: They did have iggies as well when I was last in
Thats not to say that the animals wern't healthy etc. I know they are new to reps and stuff and its all a learning curve and I appreciate that. I did mention the calci sand issue to a member of staff but I havn't been in since crimbo so not sure if they changed it. Aside from that they were fairly pricey....but as I said, very good prices on dry goods and livefoods.
Not having a go just stating a few things that bothered me, which I'm sure will be sorted. I have a found a fair few garden centres near me starting to stock reptiles with 'pet department' staff who have appear to have no clue when you ask them questions. I know its not all the same, I have been on an exotics management course with 2 girls who work in a garden centre which has expanded to herps and fair play to their employer for paying them on the course.
Again, as I said, I'm not slating the place, just pointing out some issues I had. If this is inappropriate mods please remoooove
