this was asked very recently. both in here and the snake section
i keep them at around 84f with a 25 uv. i keep them well misted but not damp. pleanty of vines, branches and fake leaves for them. and bark for there substrate. i use this as mine are fed on woodlice and worms and the bark stops them burrowing as its only a lighter scattering so they climb the vines and snakes eat them....you will find if you start feeding them on crickets then they wont last long at all....they need to be weaned onto them. These are great snakes and need to be more wildly kept but the only problem is they dont do amazingly well as although they are known for being display snakes, they do suffer greatly from stress. i have a nearly 8ft enclosure with mine in but its in my bedroom which i am rarely ever in.

You'll be very lucky to find any. Rough greens are hard enough to come by, let alone the smooths!

to be honest there is very little differnce between the two 2 speices, smooths are lighter than roughs.
but the subs also come in slightly different colours aswell. i do have old pictures some where, will try get some new ones but i rarely take much pictures anymore but a few people on here have seen them and had some of my babies a while ago. generally roughs arent very hard to come across, they are often on trade lists that pretty much all shops can get hold of, its just most shops know how quick they die when on display and they dont have time to go feeding them woodlice and such to keep them going. so its easier if they just dont buy them in. But if you ask your local shop am sure they can easily get hold of some for you. smooths will be pretty impossiable to get as the few states that they are found in they are protected and making it illegal to take them from the wild. they are mainly declining due to habitat lose but also a hell of alot of pesticides are used where they live, so there food is toxic basically. you may have some luck getting them in a rough green batch as a few people have gotten some subs together and a smooth in the past. but genereally if you do want a green snake then go for the rough greens. becareful with what you read on the net though....as alot will try sell roughs as smooth snakes and so on. cheers

although am not a fan of him, this is probs the most realistic careguide about
AmeyZoo Exotic Pets but personally i wouldnt follow them much, having kept and bred them i prefer my own way...then again i would wouldnt i. i mean his and mainy guides state a hot spot of 96 degrees,,,,the hotest my enclosure is is around 84-86, i wouldnt dare go any hotter as i find they prefer to stay in the cooler side.
