ive used the twice now and took the amount of mites down but didnt work completly.

1 idea ive had for cleaning the viv out with no chemicals is using a steam cleaner i would think that, that would even kill the eggs as well as the mites.

Our Royals had mites and we had tried most things. Our last resort was Front line but we had heard it can cause neurological probs in snakes, so we gave it a miss. A breeder came to collect his vivs and told us to use Olive oil, to bath the snakes in a warm bath with a capful of oil, wipe throughout their entire vivs with the oil under hides, water bowls & any other items. We tried this and it worked!.....it was cheap, easy to do, though a little messy and above all caused no problems to the snakes.

After spending a good deal on mite treatment id always recommend this way, it worked with one application and theyve not been back since!

i always used frontline on my reps have done for past 7 years with no probs however i had a gravid lizard last year with mites and didnt wanna risk the chemicals so i used olive oil 79p from aldi and it worked a treat
so no more £34.99 fronline for me it will be a trip to aldi again when needed
after bathing the oil of the reps i give them a quick soak in warm water with a dash of betadine in to ease any bites the mites may of given them
