Hello, I'm a first time poster and a very new snake owner (I just got my first corn 3 weeks ago). Well... I was told he ate 2 pinkies a week, and when I went in to get his first feed I got a small fluffy as it was within the 1 1/2 times of the thickest part of his body that I'd been told by other people was fine. Anyways, he munches that one down fine, but I only found a few wee bits of black poo's in the tank over the week (being a new owner still not sure what proper snake poo should look like). So, the 2nd feed comes round and I had to get the fluffy out a different place, but he didn't eat it (I wondered if maybe it smelled/tasted different), 3 days later I got another one from the place I got him from and tried it but he's still not eating it.

Tonight I got him out the viv (he's been hiding and being anti-social see) and he seems to have a hard lump at the top of his stomach (furry skull maybe?), so am wondering if he's not finished digesting the first feed I gave him.

Can anyone help me? I did research before I got him but theres some things that I didn't seem to find anywhere (like the poo thing)...

Oh, and hes about a foot n a half and not that old.

Thanks
Mich x

My Desert King Snake (8 yrs old) hasnt eaten in over 2 months!! How worried should I be?? I will follow the tips given above and hope I have some success. He is not due to shed and seems to be happy with his surroundings. I have also started to get mice from a different source.

Thanks, my corn took the first 2 pinkies without a problem but seemed reluctant for the next 2 weeks. Leaving them overnight did the trick though.

I had a non feeder baby garter, I cut up a pinkie into small pieces and soaked the bit in tuna brine, it wolfed the down
