Well, I've cared for an ill rough green snake (Opheodrys aestivus) before so this might be good enough.
GENERAL Green snakes are small colubrids. They are difficult to breed so many are WC. They are arboreal and live in trees and bushes in North America. They are usually classed as beginner snakes but are challenging to keep in captivity. These snakes are very calm and rarely bite. They mostly occur in colonies and are very sociable. HOUSING Rough Green snakes don't need much space as long as they are kept in an arboreal setup. A 20 gallon vivarium of sealed fish tank are suitable homes. Height is necessary. Paper towels are good as substrates and are cheap and easy to replace. The same for newspaper. Though some people like to create a natural setup and use peat, sphagnum moss, leaf litter or bark mulch. Of course, these are more expensive and difficult to clean and replace. You will need plastic or real branches and plants throughout the tank. Also, rocks, sticks and hideboxes should be used to make the snake feel comfortable and safe in its home. A water bowl should always be accessible and filled with clean water. Green snakes like to bathe and swim so it should be of a good size. A green snake's vivarium should be kept dry as they are prone to skin problems relating to damp, such as blisters. The snake should only ever choose to get wet by means of its dish. Rough Green snakes need heat and UV. A summer daytime temperature should be around 26'C with light left on for 12hrs a day. The UV tube should also be left on for 12hrs a day. As autumn starts, the light and temps can slowly start to lower. Then at winter the temps can stay the same, then slowly warm up at spring. FEEDING Rough Green snakes are insectivorous and only the biggest will take a pinkie. A number of insects can be fed but the most common is crickets as they are cheap to buy and feed. Also, they are very nutritious. Rough Green snakes should be fed around 6 crickets a week. Occasionally, mealworms and friutflies can be added to the diet to give some variation. HANDLING Rough Green snakes are easy to handle but care must be taken as they are delicate snakes. They can be handled gently a few times a week. Do not handle after the snake has eaten. A NOTE ON DEHYDRATION Rough Green snakes don't need much humidity but fresh drinking water in a must. A snake in early stages of dehydration may get dysecdysis and have unhealthy looking scales. As long as the snake is given water and correct humidity it may recover. A snake in late stages may be curled up inactive, very weak and limp. Also, its scales will be crinkled and dull. The snake may need veterinary help and has a lower chance of survival. If a snake refuses to drink, then water can be splashed onto food and given to the snake to eat. I hope your new snake turns out well and if you need and help or advice don't be afraid to contact me. ![]()

Also, most rough greens will not take crickets. For whatever reason. I had one animal out of my lot who would. By far the easiest method of feeding is wax worm, both in larva state and as pupated moth. My advice would be to use live plants. I found a huge difference in temperament and general well-being when in a viv with live plants. Also, don't neglect UV!

I lightly misted Opheodrys every day. She loved it! But she didn't like crickets or any type of food at all.
I have books on them and took info from them.
