Default [wanted] Albino Burm

hey again.. its me again.

the mrs has got ehr ehart set on "one of them yellow snakes" and pointed out an albion burmese python..

wich realy means.. she wants it.. but i gotta look after it..

wont be for a while tho.. so any1 fill me in with a care sheet ?? i ASSUME it wouldnt differ much from my boa... but then again i know nothing it seems

i am aware they grow big (biggest 22-30ft) and have no problem with that.. im also told they can be agressive.. also no problem :d

peace

James

You dont need a specific albino care sheet, just a burm one.

First one off google looks ok tbh
Burmese Python Care Sheet and Information - WNYHS

If its your first big snake then id go for a male, they tend to top out at 12/13 feet. Very easy to keep with no special requirements, very docile and a very rewarding pet. Only downsize is there size really.

i ahve a boa.. but that will maz at between 6 and 10 feet im told..

was planning on a male anyway.. and i had an incling that it would jsut be a burm sheet... but thought id better make sure

not fussed on its size... would love a 15 foot snake

the way ive got ehr to consider it.. (its my idea she thinks its hers)

is that i get a reptile room... but we keep 1 snake as a "show" snake... in the living area that we can view all the time.. and is a talking point in our house (when we get one)

this would be the burm..

personaly i like the normal burms (born + black ones) but she likes "that yellow one"

peace

James

Ive got 6 burms mate, 2 normals, 2 albinos, 1 green and 1 albino green

Retics are big angry snakes, i wouldnt consider one till you have some experience with big snakes tbh.

i would say that in an ideal world a good amount of experience with larger boids is very helpful too...i have kept snakes for 20 odd years and only in the last two years have i gone onto a burm, i just think they are such a BIG responsibility..and there needs to be a LOT of thought going into it...as you see so many burms stuck in rescues or worse because they get too big and stop being so cute..and in all honesty once they get over 6ft they are very inactive and people tend to get bored with them...i love my girl and wont part with her for anything, but now she is around the 8ft mark the general chores of cleaning feeding etc are becoming quite a chore...especially cleaning, considering her poos are around the size of a jumbo rat now and man do they STINK but its just part an parcel of owning a burm...she also has her off days where she can be grumpy etc...and you need to respect that not trying to put you off but just trying to give you all the angles
