Ah, thanks for that! Just as well I'm always adding and expanding it! I'm actually debating writing a book on them, I mean, It's not hard when you know what you're talking about! Plus I already have 11 pages of care sheet on my PC!

Thats alright. I hope you didn't think I was being rude, I tried not to be!

Yeh, you should write a book! I see a lot of the posts you write (always about Bloods, might I add! lol). From what I see you def know what your talking about!

Is there a market for a good blood book? (I mean, theres not one already out there is there?)

Nope, there isnt a dedicated book on them, only snippets in general books on Pythons, and magazine articles etc. So I may give it a crack!

Go for it! I'd love to write a book... if only I actually knew anything...

quick question on housing - from what I have read (pretty limited as you say - there doesn't seem to be masses of info about) I am aware the these snakes require a viv 4'wx2'd - but what sort of height do they need? I can't imagine them to be ambitious climbers!

You're right, they aren't very good climbers, their weight tends to prohibit them.

I recommend around 18 Inches but they can be kept in more snug draws.

thanks for the reply - I thought that their rather stocky build might prohibit them, but I also thought that about royals, and since I've been 'watching' this website, I've seen many pics of them climbing and thought I'd better ask. I'm extremely interested in Borneo short tails and would love a pair. I'd like the chance to interact with an adult to see if I can cope before hand tho, the biggest snake I have previously handled was a very feisty 5ft male boa, and for a while I'm ashamed to say it scared me away from large snakes! However, now with age and a new outlook I feel perhaps I'm ready to maybe have another go at boids. If I can provide the necessary space, would you recommend a Borneo Short Tail as a reasonable project?

I would highly recommend them, they are a lovely species to work with, the 5 Borneo Short-Tails I have are all a pleasure to handle, feed and maintain.
