Default Western Hognose

Buying a Hoggie,(female adult) I've had a look at the care sheet.
Whats peoples ideal set up.....My first non boa snake,.she will be going in 3ftX18X18......I'm thinking sand, the usual, lights etc, do you have full spectrum uvb etc
Just would like a few ideas thrown at me.....she has been in our usual rep shop for ages and needs a good home which is what I want to give her, she is very friendly and a real sweetie!
So ideas please!

Not sure on the sand.... I was advised to use a thick layer of aspen for burrowing.

Not sand - beech chips, aspen, hemcore are all fine - as long as she can burrow. I have never used UV lighting with Hoggies and they have all been fine.

Mine do like a damp hide though. I use little disposeable lunchtubs with moist moss or a piece of damp material in it.

They are great little snakes and easy to keep.

I know this is a late reply, but do not use sand, ever!

Inhaling it, swallowing it with prey, getting it stuck under scales making them uncomfortable and stressed!

Its terrible stuff, I just use regular wood shavings and make it plenty thing, 2-3 inches and your sorted.
