Apologies for posting chat in a classifieds thread, but I am responding to this as it seems to be the same subject as discussed on another forum. This is basically just a copy of my reply on that forum.

This may be a long post, but I want to make sure leave no room for confusion here.

Yesterday evening, I received a private message from sparkle:

he has a male blizzzard yearling already.. so really needs a female... anyways hope you are well and let me know what u think xxxx
Well, I must admit I was a bit confused by the line "i said you were really reasonable", but I assumed she meant price wise - she knew I'd initially priced my blizzards at around £60, which while not "mega cheap" was not the highest price they go for in the UK. So I responded to what I assumed was a request for me to sell her a male blizzard (to get her out of a hole) with a friendly email remarking on murphy's law of snakes - you always end up with more males! - and regretting that I couldn't sell mine as I wanted them for my own plans, but I'd keep my eyes open for any adverts I saw. And that's the end of that, or so I thought.

So I have come back in this evening to find out that apparently I've sold sparkle a female blizzard corn snake, which has now been sexed as a male. This is a huge surprise to me, as I have not sold any blizzard corn snakes to anyone, at any point, from any shipment, ever. I also probe all snakes I buy, and individually probed each one of the Serpenco import to check that Rich had packed the right snakes (and he had, every single one!).

Just to clarify, I did import blizzards from Serpenco this year - 2.2. I ordered them in two separate orders (1.1 in each order). Here are screenshots of the order, just to confirm how many were ordered:

And here are the four blizzards in my house this evening - mainly feeding fine now, but I just haven't had the heart to part with them, I love their attitudes

Now, I appreciate sparkle didn't name me on this thread (though she has "threatened" to in 48 hours) - I guess it could be any of the people living 1km from her that has imported from Serpenco in the last year So while it's perhaps fairly anonymous to anyone out of the area, it was really not anonymous at all to anyone who's taken an interest in corns in Scotland as I am the *only* person to do such an import, as far as I know - and I'm sure people have been "made aware" of this situation too. As sparkle quite rightly states, reputation is important to me (though not "everything") - I've only sold two dozen or so snakes in my time, I'm not a big breeder, but I've earned my reputation through being willing to help out other people where I can, by being involved in the community, and by basically trying to be a pleasant person ... I am proud to have a good reputation, and I'm horrified to see a thread like this which suggests that I would misrepresent, lie about, or be rude to someone about snakes I've sold.
So just to clarify:
1. I have never sold Sparkle a male or female blizzard corn snake.
2. I have never sold anyone a blizzard corn snake, at any time in my life.
3. I would not refuse to make right my mistake if I did sell an incorrectly sexed corn snake to someone.
4. I will not make right someone else's mistake on selling an incorrectly sexed corn snake.
