Just a thought but you said the parents are pastal Motley and ghost motley/stripe.
Both ghost and pastel are forms of hypo Anery but the hatchlings look like either classic motley/stripe or Amel motley/stripe.

Pastel is a term, coined by the Americans to denote a selectively bred Annery Hypo, but can be from either Anery A or Anery B bloodlines, as long as they display the Pastel tone and colours.

To produce a mixture though, your Pastel must be a Pastel (Anery B Hypo Motley) het Anery A/Stripe. I've added het Anery to explain the mix and Het stripe as Motley x Motley Stripe = 100% Motleys (50% poss het stripe)

The motleys in question have to be Hypo Motley Stripes as it's not possible to produce normals from this combination

I can see where you're coming from Cheynei but I think you're a little off simply because the snake in the photos at the start of the thread is not any form of anery as it has red in it.
Also if you mix anery "A" and anery "B" ( forget about the hypo and motley for now) you get classic or normal color, not anery. In fact they would all be classic / normal color unless one of the anerys was also het for the other type of anery.

Angela was kind enough to send me several excellent photos of mam, dad and several of this clutch from which I have been able to work out the likely genes involved. However those genes could only be proved out via further breedings.

When you read my post properly you'll see that I've explained why they aren't anery.

I said to get a mix (which implies Anery/non Anery) the Pastel must be an Anery B Hypo Motley het Anery A and Stripe. I made the pastel Anery B to explain the possibility of non Anerys, het Anery A to explain why you'd get a mix and het stripe because motley stripe x motley = 100% Motleys (50% poss het stripe). I've also explained that Pastels are Anery A or B, which was your original query.

I didn't imply the snake at the start of the thread was anery but did state that it has to be hypo as you can't get a normal from breeding a pastel to a ghost as both are forms of Hypo.

Correct me if I'm wrong but based on the info provided I can't see how it's a little off.
